Eastman AR503CE vs AR603CED-15

The Eastman AR503CE and AR603CED-15 both use solid spruce tops and 25-inch scales, but they are aimed at different players. The AR503CE is a larger 16 3/16-inch single-pickup archtop with laminated flamed-maple back and sides. The AR603CED-15 is smaller at 15 inches, uses solid mahogany back and sides, and adds a second Seymour Duncan Seth Lover humbucker.

Which one makes more sense?

Choose the AR503CE if you want the more traditional single-neck-pickup jazz layout, a slightly larger body and a substantially lower price. Its laminated flamed-maple back and sides also make it the simpler step into Eastman’s solid-top archtops.

Choose the AR603CED-15 if a smaller body, all-solid construction and two-pickup versatility matter more. The second Seth Lover pickup gives it a broader electric range, while the 15-inch body is easier to manage for players who dislike oversized jazz boxes.
